Improve your CV
Many employers use software (an ATS) that filters CVs on keywords. Here's how to improve your chances:
- Use the keywords from the vacancy.
- Start each line with an action verb and a result.
- Use clear headings: Profile, Work experience, Education, Skills.
- Keep it to one or two pages.
What is an ATS?
An applicant tracking system is software employers use to receive, sort and search applications. A simple layout without tables or text inside images is easier for it to read.
Should you put a photo on your CV?
In the Netherlands a photo isn't required. If you do add one, use a recent, professional photo.
How long can a CV be?
One or two pages is usual. Put your most recent and most relevant experience at the top.
